About Press

bookRoom press was established in 2012 to publish and disseminate critical surveys of current thinking and innovative practice by key international practitioners and thinkers, as well as artists’ publications: 2 anthologies/surveys of writings /the book is alive ! (2012), Code X (2015), one publication on working with archive and art activism / RISE WITH YOUR CLASS (2016) and 10 artists publications by UCA researchers and invited artists: all in major public collections and mostly out of print. Some of these publications have become reference points in the field of postdigital publishing, cited and quoted in subsequent specialist publications, MA and PhD theses.

Established in October 2010, Book Room bookbiding and bookmaking facilities are housed in R54 on the Farnham campus, combining traditional and digital print and production technology to produce limited edition of book and other print work (photogravure, letterpress..).

The facilities offers BA ,MA, Research students, academics  and artists in residence the opportunity to experiment with designs and processes in a specialist environment.
