The Mela Pictures by Allan Forrester Parker
The Mela Pictures is a series of mobile studio portraits. They were made between August 2003 and January 2005 at four different locations; one in the UK and three in India. The London event in summer 2003 was supported by the V&A Museum at The London Mela Festival in Gunnersbury Park. The two shoots in Chennai were supported by the British Council, South India.
Agree/Disagree/Not Sure by Allan Forrester Parker
In agree/disagree/not sure, statements similar to those used in Psychometric tests are placed in conjunction with landscape pictures and images of installations found throughout Britain and occasionally abroad. The work suggests ways in which the environment is used metaphorically, and its modifications are reflected in the images we make and the language we use.
